Engineered Stone:
Cambria, Zodiaq, Silestone, Caesarstone, Hanstone
Composed primarily of quartz particulates mixed with
polymer resins and pigment, consistent coloration/pattern,
non-porous, heat & stain resistant, no sealing required.
Solid Surface:
Corian, Staron, Mystera, Onyx
Synthetic acrylic and/or polyseter resin that is uniform
throughout the sheet, seamless, integrated sinks available,
scratches easily but can repaired
Laminate:
WilsonArt, Pionite, Formica, Nevamar
Synthetic material made from a stack of plastic-coated papers
pressed together under high heat. Hundreds of colors, patterns
and finishes available. Laminates are the most cost effective
countertop option.
Wood: CraftArt
Any natural wood, varying thicknesses, heat resistant, renewable surface so knife marks can be repaired, requires sealing periodically.
